Key US wine sales decline for Treasury

The 2009 Wine Restructuring Action Agenda (WRAA) indicated there were 20-30,000 hectares of surplus vineyards in Australia. The Winemakers’ Federation of Australia estimates 14,000 ha have been removed since the Agenda’s launch but reform has not been as been as extensive as hoped, reports Decanter.

British adults underestimate units in wine (UK)

UK drinkers don’t know how strong their drinks are and appear to underestimate the alcohol content of wine. According to research by the Wilson Drinks Report, just 9% of 2,000 British adults correctly identified a 250ml glass of red wine as having more units than a pint of Stella or triple vodka and Red Bull, reports The Drinks Business.
